Our Mission
The Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library is an independent non-profit organization whose mission is to advocate for and to support the public library by providing funding for programming, services, and materials that enrich our diverse community.
Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library was founded
in 1974 as a vibrant community organization that promotes
reading and learning through quality library services,
and that is supported by an active, involved, and growing
membership. A Brief History of the Friends
Santa Fe Public Libraries are community information
hubs where everyone can gather to learn, create and
dream. The Friends of the Library seeks to preserve
and enhance our libraries for generations today and
tomorrow.
Through membership dues, contributions, and book sales,
Friends of the Library has raised over $3,000,000 for
the Santa Fe Public Library since 1974. Virtually every
penny donated to Friends of the Library directly supports:
|
• |
Expanded materials collections, including audio
and video titles, electronic databases, books in
Spanish, language programs, large print books and
audio books on line. |
|
• |
